Administrator-browser script execution via raw exception message
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Reflected XSS in hortusfox-web 4.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in their own browser via a crafted email value. The create_user() exception path passes an email-bearing validation message to FlashMessage::setMsg without output neutralization, causing the flash box to interpret script markup. Administrator access and a forced validation error are required, and only the submitting administrator's session is affected.
