Stored XSS via unescaped task titles
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stored XSS in hortusfox-web 4.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in other users' browsers through task titles. The createTask flow passes the unescaped title to createdTask, and addToChat stores the resulting raw message for HTML rendering in group chat. Any logged-in user can plant the payload; it runs when another user views chat, including after a later login, exposing data and actions available in that browser session.
