Authenticated file read via unchecked download path
Published May 11, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Path traversal in production_ssm 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through the file download route. The handleFileDownload method fails to reject Windows backslashes and dot-dot traversal sequences in fileName before opening the requested file. A valid backend session is required, and exposure is limited to files readable by the application process rather than file modification or service interruption.
