Reflected XSS via attacker-controlled response Content-Type
Published Jan 2, 2026 · Updated Jan 2, 2026
Reflected XSS in mccutchen go-httpbin before 2.18.0 allows remote attackers to run scripts in a victim's browser. The ResponseHeaders and Base64 handlers accept a client-selected HTML Content-Type while returning attacker-controlled body data without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires a victim to open a crafted URL, after which script execution is limited to the browser context of that response.
