Authenticated HTML injection via unsanitized upload filename
Published Jan 29, 2026 · Updated Jan 29, 2026
HTML injection in Cacti 1.2.29 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter an error popup through a crafted filename. The template import endpoint inserts an invalid upload's filename into its parsing-error popup without neutralizing HTML tags. Exploitation requires a logged-in user to submit a malformed XML template, and the maintainer disputes reproducibility after 1.2.27; JavaScript execution is not reported.
