Real-time location tracking via unchecked subscription status
Published Jul 18, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Improper access control in Splashin iOS 2.0 allows remote authenticated users to trigger immediate target location updates. The /rest/v1/rpc/location-request backend endpoint processes a target user ID without checking the caller's server-held subscription level. A free-tier account and valid JWT are sufficient to invoke the premium update request; combining it with location retrieval enables near-real-time tracking of an assigned target.
