Sensitive data disclosure via enabled Android backups
Published Jul 1, 2025 · Updated Jul 1, 2025
Information disclosure in IITB SSO 1.1.0 allows physically proximate attackers to extract sensitive application data through ADB backup. AndroidManifest.xml sets android:allowBackup to true, causing Android's backup service to include the app's private files in an ADB backup. Physical access to an Android device with USB debugging enabled is required; exposed files include authentication tokens, session data, and configuration.
