Client-side script execution via unvalidated theme setting
Published May 23, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2025
Stored XSS in Tiny File Manager 2.4.7 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript or HTML via a crafted js-theme-3 value. The settings handler copies js-theme-3 into the persisted theme configuration without validation, and FM_THEME is later emitted unencoded into HTML class attributes. Exploitation requires a modified Settings request and a later page view; the stored payload then runs in a visitor's browser, including on the login screen.
