CVE-2025-44951Public exploit

State corruption via unchecked PFCP interface-name copy

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated Jan 9, 2026

Buffer overflow in Open5GS SMF and UPF 2.7.2 and earlier allows local users to corrupt daemon state through a crafted session.dev value. In ogs_pfcp_dev_add, strcpy copies the configuration value into the fixed-size dev->ifname buffer without checking its length. The attacker must be able to modify an affected network function's configuration; values longer than 32 bytes overwrite the adjacent fd field and can interrupt the daemon.
