Pre-auth code execution via oversized remote_ip input
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in PLANET WGS-804HPT firmware 1.305b241111 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via remote_ip input. The web_snmpv3_remote_engineId_add_post handler copies an oversized remote_ip value into a fixed-size stack buffer without enforcing its destination length. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation can crash the management service or execute code on the switch.
