Unauthenticated code execution via oversized contact field
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025
Stack overflow in PLANET WGS-804HPT firmware 1.305b241111 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted HTTP request. The web_sys_infoContact_post handler copies an oversized contact field into a fixed-size stack buffer without enforcing its destination length. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation can crash the web service or execute code on the switch.
