Unauthenticated command execution via unfiltered CGI input
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025
Command injection in Wavlink WL-WN579A3 firmware 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through /cgi-bin/qos.cgi. The CGI handler accepts crafted request input without filtering before passing it to command execution; public sources do not name the parameter or function. No authentication or user interaction is required, so network access to the management CGI is sufficient for command execution on the device.
