Arbitrary command execution via unsanitized hostTime
Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 2, 2025
Command injection in TOTOLINK CA600-PoE 5.3c.6665_B20180820 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a crafted request. NTPSyncWithHost accepts backtick command substitution in the hostTime value submitted to /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi rather than neutralizing shell metacharacters. The interface is network-reachable and requires no privileges or user interaction; successful exploitation reads or changes appliance data through command execution.
