CVE-2025-44779Public exploit

Arbitrary file deletion via mismatched digest handling

Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 7, 2025

Improper input validation in Ollama 0.1.33 allows attackers to delete arbitrary files through a crafted /api/pull request. The pull handler accepts layer digest values from a remote registry manifest and removes an existing target-path file when digest verification fails. Exploitation requires Ollama to pull from an attacker-controlled registry, and deletion is limited to files accessible to the Ollama process.
