Subscriber-to-Administrator escalation via unchecked role setting
Published May 13, 2025 · Updated May 13, 2025
Improper authorization in vinoth06 Frontend Dashboard 1.0 through 2.2.7 allows remote authenticated users to gain Administrator access. The fed_admin_setting_form_function() handler accepts a Subscriber-controlled register-role setting and stores it without a capability check. Subscriber access is required; changing the default registration role lets the attacker create a new account with Administrator privileges.
