Administrator-targeted script execution via unescaped search data
Published May 30, 2025 · Updated May 30, 2025
Reflected XSS in Gearside Developer Dashboard 1.0.72 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The gearside_search_theme_files admin-AJAX action returns data[0][searchData] without sanitizing or escaping it before page output. A logged-in administrator must open attacker-controlled HTML that submits the request; the injected script then runs in that administrator's browser context.
