Improper integrity validation in AVEVA PI Connector for CygNet 1.6.14 and earlier allows local users to make its service unresponsive. The connector accepts locally modified cache and buffer files without adequately validating their integrity, then becomes unresponsive while processing them. Exploitation requires elevated local privileges, and the documented consequence is an availability loss limited to the connector service.
