Memory corruption via unbounded time parsing
Published Jun 2, 2025 · Updated Jun 2, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC6 firmware 15.03.05.16 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted time parameter. The setSmartPowerManagement function parses the value with the sscanf format %[^:]:%[^-]-%[^:]:%s into four fixed-size stack buffers without width limits. An unauthenticated HTTP POST to /goform/PowerSaveSet reaches the parser; the published proof of concept demonstrates oversized input, but no code execution or device crash is established.
