Browser code execution via stored admin-portal script
Published Jun 12, 2025 · Updated Jun 12, 2025
Stored XSS in AVEVA PI Connector for CygNet 1.6.14 and earlier allows local users to run JavaScript in other users' browsers. AVEVA has not disclosed the affected admin-portal field, page, or missing output-encoding operation, but states that injected code is persisted and rendered by affected pages. Exploitation requires administrator privileges and local portal access, followed by another user visiting an affected page; the script then executes in that visitor's browser context.
