CVE-2025-4416Network attack vector

Unauthenticated denial of service via unbounded login names

Published May 21, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Drupal Events Log Track before 3.1.11 and 4.0.0 through 4.0.1 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The event_log_track_auth_user_login_validate handler copies an unbounded submitted login name into ref_char for every failed authentication request. The authentication-validation submodule must be enabled; repeated unauthenticated login requests can exhaust server resources and interrupt the Drupal site.
