Authenticated code execution via unchecked plugin ZIP
Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Emlog Pro 2.5.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through a plugin ZIP. The upload_zip path in admin/plugin.php passes the archive to emUnZip, which blindly extracts its entries without validating embedded PHP files. Administrator-level access to the plugin installer is required; a successful upload runs attacker-controlled code with the web server's privileges.
