Administrator-browser script execution via unescaped gallery captions
Published May 19, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Stored XSS in FlatPress CMS before 1.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another administrator's browser via gallery captions. The gallery captions administration panel persists caption text and renders it into page HTML without output encoding, so script markup survives storage. Administrative access is required to plant the payload, and script execution occurs when another administrator views the affected gallery content.
