File disclosure via unrestricted XML external entities
Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 10, 2025
XXE in Keyoti SearchUnit before 9.0.0 allows remote attackers to read operating-system files through attacker-controlled XML and DTD files. XmlTable.ReadTable opens Content.xml with XmlTextReader and passes it to XmlDocument.Load without disabling external entity resolution. The web service must accept an attacker-controlled SMB indexDirectory, and the issue was reproduced when the application targeted .NET Framework 4.5.
