Unauthenticated subscription creation via missing administrator check
Published Aug 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025
Missing authentication in Mattermost Confluence Plugin before 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to create channel subscriptions through its API. The handleSaveSubscription handler checks channel access but does not require system-administrator authorization before saving the supplied subscription. No credentials or user interaction are required, and exploitation alters notification routing and can expose Confluence update data to an unauthorized channel.
