Root command execution via crafted Wi-Fi limit
Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2025
OS command injection in FIRSTNUM JC21A-04 firmware through 2.01ME/FN allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The xml_action.cgi method endpoint passes crafted Wi-Fi client-limit input from the max_num parameter into an OS command without neutralizing command syntax. Access to the authenticated management interface is required; successful exploitation grants root-level command execution and can disclose data or interrupt the device.
