Unauthorized calls via unprotected exported dialer activity
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
Missing authorization in TextNow 2ndLine 24.17.1.0 and earlier allows local users to place phone calls through a crafted intent. The exported com.enflick.android.TextNow.activities.DialerActivity accepts an interapplication intent and initiates a call without checking for phone-call permission. An attacker-controlled application must already be installed on the Android device; no permissions or victim interaction are required, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized call placement.
