Root command execution via unsanitized diagnostic destination
Published Sep 22, 2025 · Updated Sep 22, 2025
Command injection in the 2wcom IP-4c 2.16 web interface allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root. The ping and traceroute handlers pass the TCP/IP screen's unsanitized Destination value directly to a system shell, so command separators invoke extra commands. An admin or manager session is required; successful exploitation returns command output and grants full control of the appliance.
