User-to-admin privilege escalation via missing endpoint authorization
Published Apr 22, 2025 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Improper access control in Codemers KLIMS 1.6.DEV allows remote authenticated users to perform administrator actions through REST requests. The /klims/rest/api/script/execute endpoint accepts a normal user's session token and executes a submitted Python snippet without enforcing an administrator role. A valid normal account is sufficient to alter configuration, create accounts, upload files, or run server-side Python code.
