Permission elevation via arbitrary preference-key injection
Published May 8, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Stored XSS in Znuny LTS 6.0, 6.5.1 through 6.5.14, and 7.0.1 through 7.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to elevate permissions. AgentPreferences UpdateAJAX accepts arbitrary preference keys, and GetUserData passes the complete attacker-controlled key-value map to downstream functions without restricting the keys. A valid agent session is required, and downstream use of the injected preferences changes permissions or other settings; no service interruption is reported.
