Service interruption via DDSH CLI stack overflow
Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in the DDSH CLI of Dell PowerProtect Data Domain DD OS allows local users to interrupt service. Dell identifies the proprietary DDSH CLI as the locus but has not disclosed the affected command, input field, or incorrect operation that overruns the stack buffer. Affected releases include Feature Release 7.7.1.0 through 8.3.0.15, LTS2025 8.3.1.0, LTS2024 7.13.1.0 through 7.13.1.30, and LTS2023 7.10.1.0 through 7.10.1.60; exploitation requires local access with high privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
