CVE-2025-4388Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Reflected XSS via unescaped iconURL parameter

Published May 6, 2025 · Updated May 6, 2025

Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal and DXP allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript through the unauthenticated marketplace app manager. The icon.jsp endpoint writes the attacker-controlled iconURL parameter into its HTML response without context-appropriate output encoding. A victim must open a crafted URL for the script to run in that user's browser, exposing data and actions available to the session.
