Device takeover via setFaultDebounce command injection
Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025
OS command injection in Johnson Controls iSTAR controllers 6.9.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain full device access. The setFaultDebounce web operation fails to neutralize command elements in request input before invoking an operating-system command. Valid application credentials and network access are required; successful execution permits firmware modification and full control of the controller.
