Reflected XSS via unescaped backURLTitle
Published Sep 29, 2025 · Updated Sep 30, 2025
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal and DXP page administration allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through a backURLTitle value. PortletBackLinkProductNavigationControlMenuEntry.getLabel formats the attacker-controlled backURLTitle into the go-to-x label without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted page-configuration URL; the resulting script runs in that user's Liferay origin and can read or modify browser-accessible data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
