Unauthenticated product download via guest file permission
Published Sep 19, 2025 · Updated Sep 19, 2025
Incorrect permission assignment in Liferay Portal and DXP Commerce allows remote attackers to download virtual products via crafted URLs. When a virtual product file is uploaded, the Commerce component stores it in Documents and Media with guest view permission instead of restricting access to purchasers. No account or purchase is required; knowledge or discovery of a file URL exposes the paid download, while integrity and availability remain unaffected.
