Account access via replayed one-time password
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
Authentication bypass in affected Liferay DXP releases allows attackers with a user's TOTP to authenticate repeatedly during its validity period. TimeBasedOTPBrowserSetupMFAChecker verifies the supplied code against the shared secret but does not record and reject the last successful value. Exploitation requires access to a valid user TOTP and enabled TOTP-based MFA; replay grants that user's authenticated access until the code expires.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
