Cookie disclosure via incorrect subdomain identification
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
Supercookie creation in Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP allows remote attackers controlling a same-TLD site to read application cookies. The domain-name handling logic incorrectly identifies the subdomain and creates a cookie whose scope extends to an attacker-controlled site under the same TLD. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled website sharing the TLD and active victim interaction; the reported consequence is cookie disclosure only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
