Staging data exfiltration via attacker-supplied live-site address
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
External configuration control in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote authenticated users to exfiltrate staged site data. The ExportImportPortlet accepts remoteAddress and remotePort request parameters instead of obtaining the live site's saved address from the database, directing staging output to a fake live site. Exploitation requires the staging shared secret and the ability to add the attacker-controlled server to the staging server's whitelist; the reported consequence is data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
