Stored JavaScript execution via unescaped site names
Published Sep 12, 2025 · Updated Sep 12, 2025
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript through organization site names. The users-admin site-selection JSP assigns the selected group descriptive name to a label without HTML escaping. An authenticated user must save a crafted site name and a separate user must open the selection modal, where the payload executes in that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
