CVE-2025-43786Network attack vector

Unauthenticated ERC enumeration via response timing

Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025

Observable timing discrepancy in Liferay Portal and DXP allows remote attackers to determine whether an object entry ERC exists. Portal-vulcan JAX-RS exception mappers used different paths for missing models and denied access, producing measurable response-time differences. Unauthenticated requests are sufficient; affected releases include Portal 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.128 and the listed DXP 2023.Q4, 7.4, and 2024.Q1 through 2024.Q3 ranges.
