CVE-2025-43785Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped workflow task author

Published Sep 10, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025

Stored XSS in affected Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP releases allows remote attackers to execute script in the workflow-task page. The workflow-task view passes workflowTask.getUserName() into liferay-ui:message and the author column without HTML escaping, so stored account names become markup. A highly privileged attacker must store the name, and script execution requires another account holder to open the workflow-task page.
