Stored script execution via unescaped notification values
Published Oct 8, 2025 · Updated Oct 8, 2025
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal 7.4.3.102 through 7.4.3.111 allows remote attackers to inject web script through notification data. FlagsUserNotificationHandler and AssetPublisherUserNotificationHandler render originalValue instead of escapedValue from notification JSON. Liferay DXP 2023.Q3.1 through 2023.Q3.10 and 2023.Q4.0 through 2023.Q4.5 is also affected; exploitation requires low-privileged access and a separate user to view the notification, executing the payload in that user's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
