CVE-2025-43768Network attack vector

Authenticated admin-user disclosure via incorrect role check

Published Aug 23, 2025 · Updated Aug 23, 2025

Information disclosure in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote authenticated users to read administrator user IDs. The JSONWS-exposed UserServiceImpl.getRoleUserIds method checks VIEW permission on a role instead of ASSIGN_MEMBERS before returning every user ID assigned to it. Any authenticated account with JSONWS access and the target role ID is sufficient; the flaw exposes membership data but does not alter accounts or roles.
