Stored XSS in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript through web content text fields. JournalTransformer stores DDM text-field data in dynamic web content without HTML-escaping it before output; the fix adds HtmlUtil.escape for TEXT fields. Exploitation requires crafted text to reach a web content structure, after which the persisted script executes in browsers that render that content.
