Unauthenticated script execution via legacy CKEditor sample
Published Aug 22, 2025 · Updated Aug 22, 2025
Reflected XSS in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a legacy CKEditor sample page. The ajax.html endpoint under frontend-editor-ckeditor-web/ckeditor/samples/old returns attacker-controlled input without neutralizing executable markup. No authentication is required, and successful injection runs with the Liferay origin privileges available to the requesting browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
