Authenticated script execution via unescaped success message
Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated Aug 22, 2025
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal and DXP allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a form container's embedded message. RenderLayoutStructureDisplayContext.getSuccessMessage reads localized message JSON and returned it as HTML without escaping user-controlled content. Exploitation requires a highly privileged account and exposes browser-accessible data or actions to the injected script.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
