CVE-2025-43750Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file upload via missing MIME validation

Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote attackers to store files through guest form attachments. UploadFileEntryMVCActionCommand derived a MIME type from the uploaded file and name but passed it to storage without validating it against the site's allowed MIME types. Guest access is sufficient; extension obfuscation bypasses the existing extension check, while downstream processing or user interaction is required for confidentiality or integrity effects.
