CVE-2025-43741Network attack vector

Authenticated script execution via unescaped hidden-input value

Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Aug 20, 2025

Reflected XSS in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser. The asset tag selector JSP writes the assetTagNames-derived selected-item value into a hidden input without HTML escaping, allowing markup to break out of the value attribute. A logged-in attacker must cause another user to render the crafted response; successful execution can read or alter browser-accessible data in that user's Liferay session.
