Authenticated phishing via unprotected calendar email templates
Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Aug 19, 2025
Improper authorization in Liferay Portal and DXP allows remote authenticated users to alter calendar emails sent within an organization. Calendar notification templates lacked individual resource permissions, so the update service accepted unauthorized subject and body changes. Any authenticated account can therefore alter messages delivered to other users, enabling same-organization phishing.
