Script execution via unescaped iframe source
Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Aug 12, 2025
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal and DXP allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript through the unauthenticated google_gadget endpoint. GoogleGadgetServlet writes the attacker-controlled widgetURL directly into an iframe src attribute without HTML escaping. No account is required; successful exploitation runs script in the site context when a browser processes the crafted response, permitting page-data access or actions with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.4.0 <=7.4.3.131
