Authenticated script execution via unescaped message-board content
Published Aug 18, 2025 · Updated Aug 18, 2025
Reflected XSS in affected Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP releases allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript into message-board views. The message-board display context inserts category names into page titles without HTML escaping, while stale CKEditor thread content can survive single-page navigation. An account able to create or edit that content can execute script in a browser that renders the crafted view, exposing data and actions available to that session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
